The Centre for Agricultural Advisory Services (CAAS) is state organisational unit operating under aegis of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Our Centre has legal status of separate, independent body. CAAS operate across the whole country. There are four internal organisational units, headquarter in Brwinów (near Warsaw) and three Branches in Kraków, Radom and Poznań. The Centre as an umbrella national body cooperates with 16 Regional Agricultural Advisory Services covering all Poland and employing over 4000 personnel of which substantial majority are field advisors. CAAS as priority tasks is implementing the following activities:

  • Training activities in areas of agricultural and agri-environment (total number of around 14 000 participants in all forms of educational activities carried out in 2016 by CAAS)
  • Facilitation of creation and operation of network between farmers, units providing advisory services, research centres, agri-business, and other relevant stakeholders supporting innovation in agriculture and rural development.
  • Facilitation of exchange of knowledge and good practices in scope of innovation and modern solutions in agriculture and rural areas – cooperation with research centres and agricultural higher educational institutions.

Katarzyna Boczek MSc is deputy director of CAAS. She has over 30 years of experience in agriculture in various capacities. She worked as director of regional advisory centre in the largest Polish region and educational Foundation 4H implementing projects for children and young people. Apart of that she was involved in analytical and research activities in Poland (i.e. Programme Leader) and technical assistance projects in the Balkans. In CDR she is directly responsible for operational activities of CAAS.

Marek Krysztoforski MSc is an expert on agri-environmental and ecological farming with over 25 years of practical experience in farm and laboratory management, and provision of advisory services. Moreover, he has also experience in project management in Poland, Ukraine, Moldova and Kazakhstan. In CDR, as Main Specialist he is directly involved in training and advisory services on agri-environmental and cross compliance measures.

Janusz Dabrowski (Master of Law) has first-hand experience in evaluation projects (development of methodologies, carrying out IDI, focuses, reporting). Additionally, his assignments cover involvement in technical assistance projects in Poland and the Balkans (1993-2012). His task within CDR concerns, inter alia, management of external projects implemented in the Centre.
